Project Date Fall 2022

This project was a 12 week course aimed at learning the design-thinking process through tackling a public health issue. The primary focus of our project centered around design research, and understanding our problem though user interviews, academic research, and testing hypotheses with virtual and physical prototypes. It was a group project including three other students and me. The group decided to focus our efforts on the topic panic disorder and anxiety.

One of the most valuable experiences I learned from this project was to conduct interviews with people who had suffered a traumatic experience on the NYC transit system.

Although you may think you understand a problem, there is no way to truly create a human-centered design without conducting these interviews. I believe this key component of the design process is completely overlooked in many products and services we interact with everyday.
